Transforming Resistance with ISTDP
A 4-part Webinar
In February 2026, I will be starting this 4-part monthly online course which will focus on the Standard Format of ISTDP. This course is appropriate for clinicians with different levels of experience with ISTDP.
The course will take place on the 3rd Friday of the month beginning on February 20th, 9am to 12pm Australian Eastern Time.
In this course, we will review in detail a completed ISTDP treatment for a moderately resistant patient. Through this case material, participants will observe and learn about: (1) A psychodynamic approach for establishing a treatment focus around clients’ conflicted attachment relationships; (2) Session-to-session, how to maintain a clear focus on these attachment themes; (3) Recognizing defensive avoidance and transforming the alliance; (4) An active therapeutic stance to promote the working through of conflicted emotional states through assisting clients to experience then express previously avoided feelings in-session.
