Melinda Robb

Melinda Robb, MSW, RSW

Melinda is a registered social worker in Nova Scotia, specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. She holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from Emory University. Melinda has advanced didactic training in psychoanalysis, and additional training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Radically Open-DBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, Exposure and Response Prevention, and CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Intensive Training). She is also currently training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. She has experience working in a variety of settings with adults and adolescents with diverse life experiences.

Melinda’s clinical approach centers relationships—including the therapeutic relationship—as key to greater self-understanding and agency. She is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, open-minded, client-centered therapeutic frame, grounded in curiosity and respect. She tailors treatment to individual clients, and especially enjoys a depth-oriented, longer-term approach to helping clients work through various issues (for instance: internal conflicts, life transitions, relationship and family challenges, gender and sexuality, anxiety, depression, trauma, and others).

Melinda is accepting referrals for adults and adolescents seeking individual, outpatient psychotherapy.
