Dr. Kate Stymiest

Dr. Stymiest obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at Dalhousie University and is currently completing speciality training in Psychiatry at Dalhousie University. Dr. Stymiest graduated from Mount Allison University where she completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology.  

Dr. Stymiest has worked in a variety of settings including acute care psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, outpatient community mental health and has worked with both children and adult populations. Dr. Stymiest has received training in various psychotherapy modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Family Therapy. During her time with Dynamic Health, her focus is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy as part of her ongoing psychotherapy training. Through this approach, she works with clients to help them gain greater self-awareness and understanding of emotional patterns that may impact their well-being. Dr. Stymiest is a dedicated resident who takes a compassionate and person-centred approach with clients.
