Dr. Marcel Peloquin

Dr. Marcel Peloquin, Ph.D, R.Psych

Dr. Marcel Peloquin earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Dalhousie University and completed his predoctoral internship with the Saskatoon Health Region. Upon completion, he has worked in a clinical health psychology department providing outpatient and consultation services, as well in a forensic psychiatric hospital.

He is trained to provide clinical assessments and interventions for adults and adolescents across a broad range of clinical concerns. He provides treatment for depression, anxiety, substance use, personality, eating, somatic and medically unexplained symptoms, and other serious mental disorders. As well, Dr. Peloquin provides psychotherapy for other life-interfering issues such as issues of attachment, grief, terminal illnesses, finding purpose in one’s life, anger management, reducing criminal or deviant sexual behaviors, and other emotions and behaviors which interfere with managing acute or chronic health conditions, including pain.

Dr. Peloquin is passionate about providing the best outcome for his patients. He is committed to improving his skills and continues to engage in supervision and training. His main treatment modality is Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). This therapy may be especially relevant when other therapies have failed. He also provides cognitive and mindful therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
